ABOUT THE SITE
ONLINE SINCE: January 2008 ------------------------------------------------- TERMS OF USE You can: Download my graphics/art for personal use. ------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER - This site is in no way associated with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Harry Potter, mentioned actors/actresses, or any other fandom/anything else you may recognize. ------------------------------------------------- PREVIOUS LAYOUTS Version 1 (January 2008): I don't know what I was thinking when I made this, except I wanted something to represent many fandoms, which explains the many celebs. At the same time, I also aimed for funny, simple and "collage-y" along with "art-y", there of the pens. I failed spectacularly in that, I must admit, and the picture is just so...cramped, like I wanted as much as possible in the smallest space as possible. (I hadn't yet grasped the saying "little/simple is best...") Version 2 (February 2008): For this, I wanted colorful - clear pinks (it was around Valentine...), and other than that, just a simple blend as the Header. The Head-picture wasn't ugly, but the comoposition of the layout around it was kind of boring and "typical": Two columns, one thin to the left, one thick to the right, every title with a pink background (too much pink), too many effects when dragging the mouse-pointer over the words, boring font and boring overall. I didn't save the layout itself, so this is only a picture of the Header...see it as a blessing.) Version 3 (Spring 2008): This is a favourite - I spent a lot of time figuring out the fonts and how to compose the layout - I wanted something special, different from the usual sites you find on the net, while still simple, stylish and easy to navigate. I really liked the blue colours, and the Header, as well as the affiliate buttons. I kept this for the longest of all my layouts, and what made me tire of it was the clear blue text (it became a bit much after a while - I should have gone for a lighter blue, I think), as well as the width of it, which made it difficult to appreciate on a smaller screen.
Version 4 (Summer 2008): Featuring Kristen Stewart, due to my growing Twilight obsession. Again, I wanted something a bit different, and skipped the Header completely, with just two straight columns. This was also the first layout that introduced "Teaser-thumbnails." At first, I found it sort of boring, but it quickly grew on me - I really liked the colour and the composition. But, if version 3's problem was too much width, version 4's was too little. The two columns beside each other meant I couldn't fit in as much content, and forced visitors to scroll...a lot. Version 6: (Autumn-Winter 2008): I found a brilliant Twilight Poster which I based the Header on instead of my usual wallpaper-based layouts with blending and textures, I just added a couple of gradients, added some brightness and a little bit sharpness/contrast, and played around with the selective colour hues and levels - and I think that was a success. I usually don't like making dark layouts, but it turned out so well I couldn't manage to be bothered by it...and since it was autumn:D I loved the Header, colours, the navigation (even more "portfolio"), not to mention the "bottom" column of the site which really complemented the Header really well. It stuck around for quite some time. Truly, it was the apple of my eye. <3 Current: (January-? 2009): A fresh spring layout to begin the New Year - and, also, the one year anniversary layout! To celebrate Visionary's year long life, I wanted to make something green - both to celebrate the coming spring, and because green is the color of rebirth and growth. I wanted it to symbolize how the site has developed through this year, and how my art has changed and developed as well, of course. :D The lyrics (Within Temptation - See Who I Am) in the Header also fits really well to that change, while it also points towards the future. And as a "back to basics" kind of thing, to acknowledge where I began, I chose Sarah Michelle Gellar as the actress on the Header, since she was also in my very first layout. |
